Facebook is working on a dark mode feature on for the Facebook mobile app, as spotted by Facebook new feature sniffer Jan Wong,
Dark mode is increasingly becoming a norm for most app developers and tech firms for different reasons; mostly due to users demand some persons want dark mode because it saves battery life, some want it because it isn’t harsh to the eyes while others just want it because of the elegant aesthetics.
Rumors have it that Google and Apple also have a dark mode in the test for the next Android and iOS version, well, since the demand is high app developers and tech giants have to key into providing an option for their users
As spotted and reported by a renowned reverse engineering app, Jane Machun Wong, Facebook is working on bringing a dark mode to the Facebook app for Android,
She shared a screenshot to support her discovery, as she says
The Dark Mode appears to be in an early stage of development, understandably. For now, only certain parts of the apps has been reworked to support the Dark Mode. For example, dark text dislaying on a dark background, vice versa,
For now, there isn’t a real-time when the dark mode feature will be released. The feature might be released sooner than expected, or even take a longer period of time before it gets released to the public.

With a mobile app of this scale, it could take time to refine the Dark Mode. Be patient! The rough edges will be eventually be refined,” Wong added.
We hope to see this new feature soon, as it becomes handy mostly during the evening hours, the dark mode can also save device battery life and friendly to the eyes too.
